Calm Shen: A Peaceful Spirit

In Chinese medicine, each organ system and their inter-relationship tells the story of our physical, mental/emotional and spiritual life and well-being. Shen (with a little "s") is the spirit of our Heart, which is the seat of consciousness and the Emperor or Empress of the whole body. The Heart sets the rhythm. Here in the Heart, as we commune with Shen (Spirit), we are filled with the "peace that passeth understanding", or "calm shen" which is a gift that brings with it grace, harmony and health (wholeness).

This is the essence of healing: the cultivation of a calm spirit within our heart, nourished by our connection with Spirit and simply giving from the overflowing abundance of Being.
