  Jane Finney Chokey, L.Ac., MTCM, Dipl. OM (NCCAOM)

Born in Wakefield in the West Riding of Yorkshire, England, Jane culminated her academic studies in achieving her B.A. (Hons) in the historic town of Chester before being inspired to teach in France, the Czech Republic and China.

Whilst teaching in Wuhan, China, home to the famous Tongji Medical College, her interest in medicine blossomed. With personal experiences of Medicine in China her interest grew and research found many eminent Chinese doctors teaching in America. It has been her honor to work with so many of these Chinese Medicine Doctors during her four year Master’s at Five Branches University (FBU).

Her studies at FBU included Pediatrics, OB/GYN, Traumatology and Orthopedics, EENT, External Medicine, Oncology and of course the Chinese classics of diagnosis, acupuncture and herbology, Huang Di Nei Jing, Shang Han Lun and Jing Gui Yao Lue.

An interest in martial arts in China brought her to study medical qigong in America. Whilst at FBU Jane was able to study with an 80th generation disciple, Maoshan Daoist Temple, to develop her qigong skills, a form of energy work studied by medical practitioners and martial artists alike.

Chinese Medicine diagnoses and treats the body, mind and spirit through enquiring, observation and Chinese Medicine diagnostics which include palpation, pulse-reading and qigong energy diagnosis. Any set of symptoms can be treated even without a Western diagnosis.

Jane believes in the excellence of diagnosis and so enjoys treating all patients whatever their health complaints. These can include but are not limited to;

Menstruation issues, PMS, urinary issues, headaches, gastrointestinal disorders, anxiety, fatigue, menopause, colds/flu, depression, allergies, side effects of radiotherapy/chemotherapy, hypertension/hypotension, body pain, arthritis, morning sickness, acne, skin disorders, insomnia, infertility.

Ten thousand flowers in spring,
the moon in autumn,
A cool breeze in summer,
snow in winter -
If your mind is not clouded by unnecessary things,
this is the best season of your life.

-Wu-Men,
Chinese Poet
